Hi Michael,

Your voice has the capacity for a quality of honesty that far exceeds anything I have ever encountered. Your voice can even bring tears to my eyes. I have never experienced this with any other music.

It puzzles me why in most of your recordings, you choose to use such heavy instrumentation, and vocal reverbs. This type of production is a contradiction to the truthful quality of your voice.

I think you would strongly appeal to your audience with just pure acappella or sparse accompaniment with a simple instrument or two of songs that you really feel deeply about.

You have a beautiful gift, Michael. Please don't hold back from being your whole true self. Show us what you've been made for.

To the CAST and CREW of DOTV: I had to write my love and thanks for putting on such an energetic, technical, and funny show. You are all enormously talented, and I enjoyed the show very much. You have all proved to be exceedingly good at being supporting players; it will be great fun to watch as your names go into lights over the coming years! Mandy and Max, I expect you’ll soar. Ron, I’ve been curious to see you live for years, and it’s expectation well fulfilled. Liz and Leah, you can shatter my eardrums anytime you’d like; that was some impressive singing and acting. Asa, you had me in stitches all the while you were on stage. Rene, after years of watching you on television and in film, it was an absolute delight to discover your comedic side. What timing! What ad libs! The Entire Cast is extraordinarily talented; your dancing in particular was richly rewarding to watch.

MICHAEL, after years of loving you, what more can I say? Your voice just gets better and better! I love the lower register you’re showing us now. I was tremendously relieved to hear that you aren’t ready to become a gentleman-vintner just yet! I’m looking forward (yes, hungrily) to your next effort, and I’ll be there to cheer you on until we’re both too old to stand—and then I’ll do it from my wheelchair :-)

We are extremely saddened by the closing of the show and our hearts go out to all of you. We saw the show several times and thoroughly enjoyed it every time. We saw other shows (Chicago & Urinetown) which were very good but not the stellar quality of Dance of the Vampires. It had it all: performers, costumes, music & set design was excellent. We pray that God will assist all of you in finding great parts in good shows very soon. God biess you all.

I went to the show on Jan. 10th. It was the first show I have been to in 27 years. The show is fabulous and I am very sorry it has to come to an end. All of the performers are fantastic. Your hard work and talents are greatly appreciated by me and your many fans. I am looking forward to seeing the show again this Friday. BRAVO to all of you.

MCIFA is a great organization and I am proud to be a member. I was devastated to see that DOTV was closing. I had tickets for February and am sad that I will not be able to hear your angelic voice live. It has always been a dream of mine to see you perform live. I regret that I have not had the opportunity to see you perform live. I was recently in NY but I was scheduled to leave before DOTV opened. I have heard you sing and of course I have the "Phantom" soundtrack.

I can not tell you how much you have touched with your singing. I've listened to "Phantom" so many times, and I stil get chills and still cry when I listen to you sing. I have heard all of your songs and I am so impressed! You are truly one of the greatest singers of all time.

I wish you luck in all of your future endeavors. I hope that I will get to see you! Come back out to the West coast for a while!!

I'm thrilled I had the chance to see DOTV in previews and I'm going back on closing night. I probably would have gone more, but I have a 6 week old baby. I was 8 months pregnant when I saw it the first time and the second time will be the first time I'm leaving her, so that should tell you how much I loved the show. I'm sorry the show is closing, but Michael and the cast should be proud. The critics don't know everything.

What a very sad week this has been. I had a family bereavement which left me devastated. Then, on turning on my computer yesterday, I saw the news of DOTV closure. I was so looking forward to seeing you Michael and the show in London next year and now it seems that will not happen. You have all worked so hard to make this show a success and I think it WAS a success. I loved the video clips and the music I heard on the internet.

I wish each and everyone of you, a much deserved rest and good fortune in the future.

Dear Michael:

Not being able to get to NYC very often, I am no authority on Broadway shows, but I did come up to see you in two performances of DOTV and am afraid I don't remember too much about it because I was in a trance just watching you perform and listening to your beautiful,powerful voice.

The show was good enough those nights to rate raving, standng ovations. I just do not understand self-appointed critics. They took your show down, no doubt about it.

I also remember that at the time Phantom was playing in NYC, Hal Prince stated in an interview that it was an impossibility to mount a musical in NY. You stated in a couple of interviews that a successful show might come along once in a lifetime for an actor and you were lucky to get one. And what a success you were! You had ladies swooning and longing to be with you forever and only seeing your mask, your expressive body language and hearing your marvelous voice. You made the show, caused it to be voted the best theatrical show of all time (AL-W did help you with the score), and no one will ever forget the show or you.

If the snow allows, I will be in NYC for your birthday bash at the Crowne and will be thrilled to see DOTV again and hope to get to speak to you. I am "Totally Devoted To You."

Please come back to us after your deserved vacation.

We had the privilege of seeing DOTV twice during Thanksgiving weekend, once from the front row, thanks to the MCIFA. The show was fabulous, and we had a great time interacting with the undead by virtue of our proximity to the stage.

Kudos to the cast, orchestra and crew on a job well done. To Michael, we love you dearly. Next stop: Phantom...The Movie!

We thoroughly enjoyed seeing Vampires when we were in NYC last October during premier and thought it was a great new show. The costumes were colorful, music upbeat, and the jokes hilarious, only wished Michael would have sung more.
I have been a Michael fan for years, and besides seeing him in EFX, Phantom and on tour, I have all his music. Even had a friend get me a copy of his autobiography when it was first released in England.
I don't know why the critics had to be so mean, as we were part of the standing ovation and wished we would have had time in the city to see the show again.
Good luck to all of you, and I do hope Michael will not take so long to play in a show again. Also think someone could convience Andrew that Michael is not too old to play the Phantom in the movie, since when does that character have to be young? Michael was meant for that part.

Very sad to hear about the show's closing, but as my maternal grandma used to say, "Every closed door opens a new one." Sorry I never got the tickets to see "DOTV". Your last note to me wishing my parents a happy anniversary was very special but you are special and one of a kind. The invite is still open for tea (Earl Gray or Tetley?) and those same biscuits made for you years ago during your run in "POTO".

I met some of you for the first time on November 23, 2002. That is the day I will never forget. My husband took me to see Michael perform in Dance of the Vampires. It was a long time dream of mine to hear Michael LIVE and I did. Writting this I'm getting teary. To the Members, those of you that I met, you are amazing, compassionate, giving and lovely! and to MICHAEL: Mr. Crawford. I am enamored of you. You delight, uplift, and amaze my heart. It is because of your work that I am going to work on persuing a career in Vocal Performance.
